The Pentland Floating Offshore Wind Farm, a ~100 MW floating project off Dounreay in Caithness, is planned to commence operations in 2030, following its award of a UK Contracts for Difference (CfD) contract in Allocation Round 7. Once fully operational, the project is expected to generate enough renewable electricity to power up to around 70,000 homes, supporting Scotland’s and the UK’s net-zero and energy security goals.
