In September 2024, Red Eléctrica submitted the projects for the second Peninsula–Baleares electrical interconnection, including associated substations, converter stations and the submarine DC link, to the competent Spanish authorities, initiating the public information procedure and the administrative and environmental evaluation for the scheme.
