The Ostwind 3 offshore grid connection developed by 50Hertz is planned to be completed and commissioned in 2026, with the expected completion date specified as 30 September 2026 under §17d(2) EnWG. Once in operation, the 220 kV, 300 MW connection will transmit power from Iberdrola’s Windanker offshore wind farm in the Westlich Adlergrund area via a ~100 km export cable to landfall near Vierow and onward to the new Stilow substation, supplying enough electricity for around 260,000 households.
