In August 2017, offshore contractor VBMS completed a repair of the Ormonde Offshore Wind Farm’s export cable at the 150 MW project by replacing a segment of the cable located about 20 km offshore, using the cable-lay barge Stemat 82 and, in cooperation with UK high-voltage specialist EDS, installing a universal subsea joint to connect the replacement and existing cable sections.
