AREVA received letters of intent from Vattenfall to supply and install the mechanical and electrical equipment on the offshore substation platform and to supply and install the onshore 132 kV substation for the Ormonde Offshore Transmission Assets, later transferred to the Ormonde OFTO. Offshore, AREVA’s scope included two 132/33 kV transformers, 132 kV and 33 kV GIS switchgear, auxiliary transformer and diesel generator. Onshore, AREVA’s package covered 132 kV disconnectors, instrument transformers, a 132/33 kV transformer for reactive compensation, 33 kV switchgear and associated harmonic filtering and reactive equipment, delivering the complete HVAC substation interface to the Electricity North West grid at Heysham.
