In June 2013, Vattenfall Wind Power Ltd commissioned EGS (International) Ltd to carry out a detailed post‑construction hydrographic and geophysical survey of the Ormonde offshore wind farm site, including the 30 wind turbine generators, the offshore substation and the single export cable route in the NE Irish Sea. Using the survey vessel Otarie equipped with multibeam echo sounder, side‑scan sonar, magnetometer and precise positioning, EGS ran approximately 341 km of survey lines to assess bathymetry, seabed morphology, cable burial and potential scour along the export and inter‑array cables in order to meet Marine Licence monitoring requirements.
