Cable Repair

In mid-2017, Transmission Capital issued Notices to Mariners for repair works on the Ormonde offshore wind farm export cable, part of the Ormonde OFTO transmission link. The notices described a cable repair campaign using the main cable lay barge STEMAT 82, supported initially by the dive platform/support vessel YORKSHIRE LADY, with dive operations at the offshore substation and along the export cable within a defined work area. A safety exclusion zone of at least 1,000 metres around the vessels was requested, dive operations were expected to last about seven days, and the overall repair works were expected to run for approximately 16 days until around Sunday 11 June, weather permitting.
