DELAYED +3yr (Apr 2026): The indicative Oriel Offshore Wind Farm export system programme places "Offshore Export Cables Installation" in Year 3, Q3 relative to the overall construction sequence, which was previously anchored to around Q3 2027 in our database. That assumed onshore and enabling works starting roughly 2025. However, the planning application for the full project was only lodged in May 2024 and remains under determination as of early 2026, with further information requested and submitted. In section 12 of the onshore cable construction methodology and section 5.7 of the EIAR Project Description, construction is described in relative "Year 1–Year 3" terms rather than fixed calendar years. Re‑basing Year 1 to a realistic earliest onshore works start around 2028 (after consent, FID and procurement) moves Year 3, Q3 to approximately Q3 2030. Given this slippage of early milestones and typical offshore wind delivery timescales, retaining a 2027 start for offshore export cable installation would be highly optimistic, so the cable installation start is adjusted to Q3 2030. --- The Oriel Offshore Wind Farm export system’s indicative programme shows "Offshore Export Cables Installation" planned for Year 3, Q3 2027, indicating that installation of the 220 kV offshore export cable between the offshore substation and the landfall is scheduled to begin during that quarter.
