ENTSO-E’s TYNDP 2024 project page for the Offshore Wind Connection South Atlantic Oléron 1 transmission link indicates that the project has been assigned PCI number 8.2 in the 1st Union PCI-PMI 2023 list. This confirms that the grid connection for the 1,200 MW Oléron 1 offshore wind project, consisting of a new 320 kV HVDC system connecting the offshore substation to the existing 400 kV network at Grandzay in France, has been listed as an EU Project of Common/Mutual Interest. The designation recognises the project’s strategic role in connecting future offshore wind farms and is linked to its inclusion in the Atlantic Offshore Grid Corridor, a TEN-E Priority Offshore Grid Corridor.
