On 10 August 2022, the Italian national environmental assessment service (Valutazioni e Autorizzazioni Ambientali – VAS‑VIA‑AIA) opened the EIA scoping phase (“Definizione contenuti SIA (PNIEC‑PNRR)”, procedure 8661) for the Nurax Wind Power offshore wind farm of 33 turbines totalling 462 MW off the north‑eastern coast of Sardinia near Olbia, initiating consultation on the scope of the future Environmental Impact Study.
