As of December 2023, The Crown Estate confirms that the three Celtic Sea Round 5 Project Development Areas, including PDA 2, are within the scope of National Grid Electricity System Operator’s Holistic Network Design Follow Up Exercise (HNDFUE). The exercise, undertaken by ESO with engagement from The Crown Estate and National Grid Electricity Transmission (NGET), covers offshore network design and onshore transmission interface site recommendations for each PDA, providing a coordinated framework for the future PDA 2 offshore transmission connection.
