Description
Jan De Nul Group was awarded an EPCI contract for the Nobelwind (Bligh Bank II) offshore wind farm in Belgium. Its scope covered the engineering/design, procurement and offshore installation of 51 monopile foundations (50 for wind turbines and one supporting the Offshore High Voltage Substation), as well as the supply and installation of scour protection (riprap/erosion prevention) around the foundations. Jan De Nul also installed the project’s wind turbines under the same construction package, with offshore works starting in 2016 and completion/hand-over in 2017; installation activities referenced the use of jack-up vessel Vidar and Jan De Nul’s installation vessel Vole au vent.
