Commercial Operations Full Power

The Kos–Samos 150 kV AC submarine interconnection, which forms the Northern Aegean Interconnection Phase B: Samos–Kos, is planned to reach completion and full commercial operation in 2028 as part of IPTO’s second phase of the North/Northeast Aegean islands interconnection programme. In the Ten‑Year Network Development Plans and related announcements, IPTO specifies that Phase B—covering the Skyros–Evia, Lesvos–Chios, Kos–Samos and Rhodes–Karpathos links—is due or has a horizon of completion in 2028, ahead of the final phase of the wider programme in 2029 that will close the remaining loops between Lesvos–Skyros and Chios–Samos.
