Cable monitoring specialist Marlinks secured a contract from Norther NV to provide depth and temperature monitoring for the Norther offshore wind farm’s export and inter-array cables, using DTS-based optical fiber technology to track temperature and burial depth with high spatial resolution. Installation of the monitoring system had already started in Q4 2020 and was planned to be completed in early 2021, enhancing Norther’s ability to prevent cable damage during operations.
