The subsea route between Kvilldal (Norway) and Blyth/Cambois (UK) was physically connected in early June 2021, completing cable landfall and enabling end‑to‑end electrical connection of the two cable systems. Transition splices between the Prysmian and Nexans manufactured cable sections were executed in Q2 2021, allowing the two parallel HVDC cables to be joined and prepared for system tests and commissioning.
