Prysmian began installation of the North Sea Link subsea HVDC cable on the UK side in 2018. The work covered the British section of the route from the Cambois/ Blyth area and formed part of a multi‑vendor installation plan (Prysmian on the UK side, Nexans on the Norwegian side) to deliver the 720 km, 1,400 MW interconnector between the UK and Norway. The UK‑side campaign initiated the multi‑year offshore programme of manufacture, marine installation, jointing and commissioning required to connect into the Blyth converter station.
