North Irish Sea Array Windfarm Ltd plans to commence onshore construction for the NISA export system in 2027, covering the landfall works at Bremore Bay north of Balbriggan, the onshore export cable route, and the new grid facility. The onshore scope includes transition joint bays where the offshore export cables connect to the onshore circuits, trenched onshore export cables crossing under the Dublin–Belfast railway and following the R132 road corridor, and a grid facility west of the R132 comprising a compensation substation and a new 220 kV Bremore substation, which will ultimately connect to Belcamp substation on the national grid.
