On 8 March 2023, at Deadline 7 of the Awel y Môr Offshore Wind Farm DCO examination, North Hoyle Wind Farm Limited submitted a response to Examining Authority Question 3 regarding decommissioning of the North Hoyle project. The submission stated that North Hoyle is expected to operate for at least 30 years, implying decommissioning could start in summer 2034 at the earliest, noted that the Crown Estate lease runs for 50 years so life could extend beyond 2034, and indicated that offshore decommissioning works are expected to last at least 42 days.
