On 18 April 2002, the Cabinet of the Metropolitan Borough of Wirral considered the Department of Trade and Industry’s Section 36 consultation on the proposed North Hoyle Windfarm and resolved that, based on the Environmental Statement, there were no grounds for sustaining an objection. As a statutory consultee, Wirral’s response focused on seascape and visual impacts from the North Wirral coast and concluded that the visual effects were acceptable, thereby providing supportive feedback to the DTI’s consent process for the offshore project.
