The North Celtic Sea export transmission system is a paired offshore-grid record for the North Celtic Sea wind farm. Under Ireland's plan-led ORESS framework with TSO-build-and-own transmission, the export system only progresses when the wind farm has won an ORESS allocation and EirGrid scopes the connection. The wind farm's JV lost the November 2025 ORESS Tonn Nua auction (results 10 December 2025) and the JV entities recognised a €17.0m impairment. Per Energia Group's Q3 FY26 report, the alternative pathway — the National DMAP — is "not expected to complete until late 2027 with no guarantee" that the JV's identified site will be included. With no near-term auction for the wind farm and no TSO scoping in flight, the paired export grid system meets the project_on_hold threshold by inheritance. Liftable if the wind farm secures a future ORESS allocation (residual SC-DMAP sites or post-National-DMAP round).
