The North Celtic Sea export transmission system is a paired offshore-grid record for the North Celtic Sea wind farm; under Ireland's plan-led ORESS framework with TSO-build-and-own transmission, the export system only progresses when the wind farm has won an ORESS allocation and EirGrid scopes the connection. Energia Group's Q3 FY26 interim financial statements (6 March 2026) publicly disclosed that the wind farm's JV had not been awarded a CfD ORESS contract under the November 2025 Tonn Nua auction (results 10 December 2025), and that the JV entities had impaired their remaining development assets. With the wind farm at risk, the paired export grid system has no committed forward path and is correspondingly at risk of indefinite delay or eventual exit.
