Description
Engineering Technology Applications (ETA) was contracted by Bohlen and Doyen to support jointing and repair of the NorNed HVDC cable system. ETA developed detailed procedures and engineering design for installing a joint in the dual‑core Flat Mass‑Impregnated (FMI) cable section from the cable‑laying vessel C/S Skagerrak, with the methodology also intended for general repairs of approximately 50 m cable sections. This work provided NorNed’s owners and maintenance contractors with qualified repair and jointing procedures for subsea sections, strengthening the link’s long‑term maintainability.
