As part of NorNed’s construction and qualification programme, comprehensive high‑voltage tests were carried out on the project’s mass‑impregnated DC cables and joints in accordance with Cigré recommendations, including load cycle tests, polarity reversal tests, and combined DC and impulse voltage tests up to and beyond 900 kV to verify insulation and mechanical performance before service.
