Steelwind Nordenham (Dillinger Group), based in Nordenham, Germany, has been selected by RWE in advanced discussions to manufacture a portion of the XXL monopile foundations for Norfolk Vanguard West, taking over from SeAH Wind whose Teesside scope was reduced under the April 2026 mutual scope-adjustment agreement between SeAH and RWE. Industry journal reNEWS (cited via secondary trade press, North East Bylines 27 April 2026) reported that production will take place at the Steelwind Nordenham plant alongside Haizea Wind Group's Bilbao facility, on a quick-fire programme aligned to RWE's targeted summer-2026 final investment decision for Norfolk Vanguard West and 2029 commercial operations. The Norfolk Vanguard West call-off sits under RWE's existing Capacity Reservation Agreement with Steelwind Nordenham, signed on 2 October 2024, which reserves capacity for up to 300 monopiles (around 320,000 tonnes of steel over a 24-month period from 2027) for European offshore wind projects RWE plans to commission from end-2029 onwards. Quantity split between Steelwind and Haizea, formal call-off date and contract value have not yet been disclosed by RWE or Steelwind. The Vanguard West design comprises 92 monopile positions in total.
