Description
Siemens Energy, in consortium with Aker Solutions, was awarded the supply and integration of the onshore HVDC converter station and the high-voltage electrical equipment for the offshore HVDC substation for Norfolk Vanguard West, following full notice to proceed received from RWE on 15 January 2025. Siemens Energy's scope is the high-voltage equipment within the OSS topside (manufactured at Drydocks World, Dubai under the Aker Solutions / Drydocks World joint venture) and the entire onshore converter station to be built at the Necton substation site in Norfolk, providing the HVDC-to-AC conversion for connection to the National Grid 400 kV network. The combined Norfolk Vanguard West and East EPCI award was classified as "major" by Aker Solutions, defined as NOK 8.0-12.0 billion order intake.
