Description
Drydocks World, the Dubai-based fabrication yard, was engaged via a joint venture with Aker Solutions to fabricate the HVDC offshore substation (OSS) topside for Norfolk Vanguard West, under the broader Aker Solutions / Siemens Energy EPCI award from RWE (full notice to proceed 15 January 2025). The Aker Solutions / Drydocks World joint venture manufactures the topside in Dubai, UAE; the topside is then transported to Aker Solutions' Stord yard in Norway for integration with the substructure (fabricated at Verdal) and outfitting with Siemens Energy's high-voltage electrical equipment, prior to tow-out and offshore installation in 2027.
