On 18 February 2021, the High Court quashed the UK Secretary of State’s July 2020 decision to grant a Development Consent Order for Vattenfall’s Norfolk Vanguard offshore wind farm, which includes the area now developed as Norfolk Vanguard West. The Court ruled that the consent process had failed to properly assess the cumulative impacts of onshore substations for Norfolk Vanguard and its sister project Norfolk Boreas at Necton, requiring the Secretary of State to re-determine the application.
