RWE issued a Notice to Mariners on 26 May 2026 advising that the survey vessel Breaker will commence a pre-installation geophysical survey campaign on or around 15 June 2026 within the Norfolk Vanguard West array area. The campaign is expected to run for approximately one month, with the vessel conducting geophysical survey operations 24 hours per day and operating from the Port of Den Helder. The vessel will be monitoring VHF channel 16 for marine communications. This survey forms part of the pre-construction programme for the 1.4 GW Norfolk Vanguard West offshore wind farm, located approximately 47 km off the Norfolk coast. RWE is targeting Final Investment Decision in summer 2026 and offshore construction start in 2027. The geophysical survey follows earlier site-investigation campaigns conducted by N-Sea across the wider Norfolk Offshore Wind Zone (2023–2024) and a nearshore geophysical survey that commenced in August 2025. The notice was published via the KIS-ORCA marine bulletin, the navigation-safety service used by developers to coordinate with the fishing fleet and other sea users.
