On 7 July 2022, Vattenfall secured a UK Government Contract for Difference (CfD) for the Norfolk Boreas Offshore Wind Farm, the first phase of its Norfolk Offshore Wind Zone. The 15‑year CfD award provides a fixed revenue mechanism for the project, which is expected to generate renewable electricity equivalent to the needs of around 1.5 million UK homes and save over two million tonnes of CO₂ once operational.
