After a roughly 12‑month joint assessment by National Grid and Vattenfall Wind Power Ltd to identify the most economic and efficient onshore connection point for Norfolk Vanguard and Norfolk Boreas, National Grid offered separate connections for each project at the existing Necton 400 kV substation. In November 2016, Vattenfall Wind Power Ltd accepted the grid connection offer on behalf of Norfolk Boreas Limited, securing Necton as the onshore grid connection point for the project.
