RWE awarded Van Oord a contract for the transport and installation of 104 extended monopile foundations and associated scour protection for the 1.6 GW Nordseecluster offshore wind project in Germany. Using its new installation vessel Boreas, Van Oord will install 44 monopiles in 2025 for Nordseecluster A and the remaining 60 monopiles in 2027 for Nordseecluster B, located about 50 km north of the island of Juist.
