On 27 May 2024, RWE confirmed that Atlantique Offshore Energy, the marine energy business unit of Chantiers de l’Atlantique, had been selected to supply two offshore transformer substations for the Nordseecluster, including the pair of substations required for Nordseecluster A. These platforms will collect power from the 44 turbines of phase A and step up the voltage for transmission to the onshore grid via the DolWin kappa converter station.
