On 27 May 2024, alongside its investment decision for the 1.6 GW Nordseecluster, RWE confirmed that China-based Dajin Offshore had been selected to manufacture the monopile foundations for the project, including the 44 extended monopiles required for the 660 MW Nordseecluster A to be installed offshore from 2025. The Dajin-supplied monopiles will support Vestas 15 MW turbines and use a transition-piece‑less design to reduce steel usage.
