On 28 May 2024, RWE awarded Van Oord a contract for the transport and installation of 104 extended monopile foundations and associated scour protection for the Nordseecluster offshore wind project in Germany, covering both Nordseecluster A (44 monopiles to be installed in 2025) and Nordseecluster B (60 monopiles in 2027). Van Oord will execute the work using its new jack‑up installation vessel Boreas at the project site about 50 km north of Juist.
