Norddeicher Schiffswerft GmbH was the local contractor that delivered the onshore operational facilities for the Nordsee One offshore wind farm at Norddeich (Lower Saxony, Germany). The company built the new three-storey operations and maintenance (O&M) base building, providing office space and supporting infrastructure such as a control room, sanitary facilities, warehouse and workshop areas, on a site of around 1,500 square metres. In addition to the new-build, Norddeicher Schiffswerft also renovated the neighbouring storage hall to expand the project’s logistics and storage capacity. The facilities were developed to serve as the home port for the operation and servicing of the 332 MW Nordsee One wind farm located roughly 40 km north of the island of Juist. The work was completed within a reported 10-month period, enabling office and offshore service staff to move in ahead of full wind farm commissioning. Following completion, Nordsee One GmbH entered into a long-term rental agreement for the premises, stated as 26 years, securing the use of the building and refurbished hall for the project’s long-term operations phase.
