EMS Maritime Offshore provided the crew transfer vessel (CTV) service for the Nordsee One offshore wind farm, supporting the project’s operations and maintenance logistics from the Norddeich home port. The appointment formed part of the main service contracts put in place for the operations phase as Nordsee One prepared for commissioning of the 332 MW wind farm located around 40 km north of the island of Juist in the German North Sea. From October 2016 onwards, EMS Maritime Offshore’s newly built CTV WINDEA FOUR was used to transfer technicians on a daily basis from Norddeich harbour to the wind farm. The vessel was configured to carry personnel along with tools and spare parts, with loading carried out at a dedicated quay wall established to support routine offshore maintenance activities. The CTV service was intended to provide reliable, safe access to the offshore site in challenging marine conditions, enabling scheduled maintenance and offshore works during the early operational period. The announcement positioned this vessel provision alongside other long-term operations contracts supporting Nordsee One’s transition from construction to an operating asset, with Norddeich serving as the operational base for offshore service teams.
