In 2016, Nordsee One GmbH reached a key electrical infrastructure milestone for the 332 MW Nordsee One offshore wind farm in the German North Sea, with the offshore substation successfully installed. According to the project chronology, this followed completion of foundation installation and preceded cable-laying works, marking the placement of the substation topside onto its offshore structure within the wind farm area approximately 45 km off the German coast. The successful installation of the offshore substation was a major step in enabling power collection and transmission from the 54 turbines planned for the project.
