In 2021, Nordsee One GmbH carried out a major maintenance campaign on the Nordsee One offshore wind farm, replacing 10 rotor shaft assemblies. This intervention followed the identification in October 2020 of a serial defect in the rotor bearings and the subsequent planning of a preventive replacement campaign. The 2021 works marked the first execution phase of this campaign, addressing a subset of the affected turbines to manage defect risk and maintain operational reliability of the 332 MW wind farm located in the German North Sea. The replacement of these key drivetrain components represented a significant offshore maintenance effort beyond routine servicing, requiring careful planning and coordination to execute safely in the operational wind farm environment.
