In 2014, Nordsee One awarded an EPCI (Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Installation) contract to Bladt Industries and Semco Maritime for the project’s offshore substation. The scope covered the design, fabrication and installation of a 2,150‑ton offshore substation and associated jacket structure with piles, equipped with two transformers providing a total export capacity of 332 MW. The substation was built at Bladt Industries’ facilities in Aalborg, Denmark, and the work included mounting and installation of the helicopter deck, crane, electrical systems and other technical systems. The contract formed the main package for delivering the Nordsee One offshore substation that would later collect power from the project’s 54 turbines for transmission to shore.
