On 6 September 2016, Siem Offshore Contractors announced that all 70 km of inter-array grid cables for the Nordsee One offshore wind farm had been installed, terminated, trenched and tested, three weeks ahead of schedule. The work connected the 54 turbine locations and the offshore substation in the German Bight. The campaign used the “Siem Duo”: cable-lay vessel Siem Aimery and service/installation support vessel Siem Moxie, supported by the multipurpose vessel Siddis Mariner for subsea protection works. In total, 59 aluminium-core submarine composite cables with diameters up to 160 mm were installed.
