On 30 July 2018, the European Investment Bank (EIB) signed a €100 million financing tranche for the NordLink HVDC Project. The EIB project page lists this as one of several loan signature dates and associated amounts under the NordLink HVDC Project, which has total proposed EIB finance of EUR 880 million. The project is a bipolar high-voltage direct current interconnector between Norway and Germany across the North Sea, aimed at increasing interconnection capacity, improving security of supply, and enhancing electricity market integration between the two countries and the wider region.
