In 2015, the NordLink consortium of Statnett, TenneT and KfW awarded Nexans a contract worth about €500 million to design, manufacture and install two 525 kV mass-impregnated HVDC cable subsystems for the 1,400 MW interconnector between Norway (Tonstad) and Germany (Schleswig-Holstein), with a total cable length of around 700 km laid mainly offshore using the C/S Nexans Skagerrak vessel and Capjet trenching system.
