In January 2025, Vattenfall entered into a 15-year power purchase agreement with chemical company LyondellBasell under which LYB will buy around 450 GWh of electricity annually from the Nordlicht 1 offshore wind farm after it starts production in 2028. The PPA secures a significant share of Nordlicht I’s future output under contract, providing stable renewable power for LyondellBasell’s European chemical manufacturing operations and long-term revenue visibility for the project.
