In August 2024, Vattenfall concluded a 15-year power purchase agreement with steel manufacturer Salzgitter Group to supply 75 MW of connected load from the Nordlicht 1 offshore wind farm once it is operational. The long-term contract will deliver fossil-free electricity from the 980 MW project to Salzgitter’s German operations, supporting decarbonisation of steel production and securing a portion of Nordlicht I’s future revenue.
