Vattenfall completed a pre-construction safety and seabed clearance campaign at the Nordlicht offshore wind cluster site, which includes Nordlicht I, by locating and removing three Second World War sea mines from the seabed using ROVs and controlled detonations with acoustic mitigation. This UXO clearance removes a key hazard ahead of foundation installation, cable laying and other offshore construction activities planned for the 1.6 GW Nordlicht development in the German North Sea.
