Stahlbau Nord

Stahlbau Nord, part of the Ronner Group, was contracted as a subcontractor to complete the steel works on the offshore transformer platform for the Nordergründe project. Following the insolvency of the original transformer platform manufacturer BVT Bremen, wpd coordinated several companies to finish the outstanding works on the offshore substation. Stahlbau Nord’s scope involved finalising the structural steel fabrication and assembly of the more than 2,000-tonne platform so that it could be installed on its monopile foundation and commissioned as the offshore substation and grid connection point for the Nordergründe wind farm.
