TenneT commissioned the Nordergründe offshore grid connection on 31 October 2017, enabling electricity from the 18‑turbine Nordergründe offshore wind farm to start flowing through the AC export link to the mainland grid. This followed completion of the export cable installation in summer 2016 and the delayed installation and hook‑up of the offshore substation in September 2017.
