Cable manufacturer NKT completed and delivered the 155 kV high‑voltage AC cable system for the Nordergründe offshore grid connection and successfully commissioned and handed over the link to transmission system operator TenneT. This turnkey cable system forms the approximately 32 km AC connection that transports up to 111 MW of power from the Nordergründe offshore wind farm to the onshore grid in Lower Saxony via subsea and land cables. The March 2018 handover marked the culmination of NKT’s manufacturing and delivery campaign for the dedicated export connection.
