By May 2022, Nora Ventu had confirmed the site for the Nora Energia 2 project as a 600 MW floating offshore wind farm of 40 turbines located in the Sardinian Channel southeast of the Gulf of Cagliari, about 30 km south of Capo Carbonara in waters 170–530 m deep, chosen based on wind resource, distance from the coast, seabed conditions, grid connection options, and minimisation of environmental interference.
