"The Njord field will also be partially electrified... The platform will receive power from the shore via the Draugen platform in the Norwegian Sea. OKEA will develop the power infrastructure from shore to Draugen, and then Equinor will be in charge of laying the power cable from Draugen to Njord."
Equinor, as operator of the Njord field, is responsible for installing the subsea power cable between the Draugen platform and Njord as part of the Njord electrification (power-from-shore) scheme. Under the arrangement described, OKEA develops the power infrastructure from shore to Draugen, while Equinor takes charge of laying the offshore cable section onward to Njord. Equinor’s scope therefore covers planning and execution of the 145 kV subsea cable lay and associated offshore works needed to partially electrify Njord and enable a substantial reduction in CO₂ emissions from the field’s operations.
